Earlysville
Earlysville, just a few minutes northwest of Charlottesville, combines country living with easy access to Route 29. The town of Earlysville was named after John Early, who bought 1,000 acres of land in 1822 that now comprises most of the town. Though Earlysville itself is a small community, its proximity to both Charlottesville and Washington, DC makes it one of the most desirable areas in central Virginia. Homes for sale in Earlysville are just minutes away from Hollymead and the Forest Lakes subdivision. Both neighborhoods feature a mix of townhomes and condominiums and are home to the outstanding schools Hollymead Elementary and Sutherland Middle School. Homes for sale in Earlysville are also in close proximity to the Hollymead Towncenter shopping center.
Earlysville residents have direct access to some of the area’s largest employers, including Crutchfield Corporation, Northrop Grumman, and General Dynamics Corporation. Residents have instant access to a wealth of shopping opportunities along 29, including the Barracks Road Shopping Center, the Shops at Stonefield, and the Rio Hill Shopping Center.
29 and its major intersecting road, Route 250, provide instant access to the Charlottesville Albemarle Airport (CHO), the City of Charlottesville, and Albemarle High School. CHO offers daily non-stop flights to and from major international airports such as Chicago/O’Hare, New York/LaGuardia, and Washington/Dulles. The City of Charlottesville is home to the University of Virginia and Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, and it routinely places at or near the top of various publications’ lists of the best cities in the country. Albemarle High is home to MESA, the Math, Engineering, and Science Academy. MESA has advanced two students to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
