The neighborhood is also home to the Blue Ridge Swim Club, a private swim club featuring a stream-fed pool. The Club is home to a field camp program that emphasizes outdoor education and recreation.
Something for Everyone
Homes for sale in Lewis Hills feature a surprising variety of styles. Many of the properties are spacious and open, while others a more private and wooded, but they all tend to run towards an acre (or more). The majority of the residences are older and classic architecture dominates throughout. The community has a close knit feel thanks in large part to the proximity of the properties to one another. The majority of the homes feature houses set at the front of the property with the acreage set in the rear.
A Charlottesville Staple
Lewis Hills offers quick and easy access to the Foxfield Races. Starting in 1978, Foxfield has played host to biannual steeplechase races that are a staple of Charlottesville social life. The races regularly draw crowds in the 18,000 to 23,000 person range, attracting students, tourists, and townspeople alike. The spring race takes place on the last Saturday in April and is popular amongst UVA students and alumni. The fall race, also known as “Family Day”, takes place on the last Sunday in September and features a variety of activities for children and families.
