The Crossroads of America

Locations don’t come any more convenient than Zion Crossroads, which sits at the intersections of Interstate 64, US Route 15, and US Route 250 just under 17 miles west of Charlottesville. Legend has it that the name ‘Zion Crossroads’ came from nearby Zion United Methodist Church which sat at the intersection of James Madison Highway (US 15) and the newly created Route 250 in the 1930s. It is a convenient drive to Charlottesville (15 minutes), Short Pump (45 minutes), and Fredericksburg (1 hour).

Zion Crossroads was a quiet little slice of Virginia life until the construction and opening of Interstate 64 in the early 1970s. The Crossroads subsequently grew into a thriving commercial center, with major retailers and businesses springing up to take advantage of the new ease of access afforded by the intersection of the three major roads. Several high-end hotels and restaurants service the area, Walmart operates a distribution center in nearby Gordonsville, and the nearby Spring Creek Community boasts a nationally recognized golf course, a business park, and miles of walking trails.

Zion Crossroads shares in the rich legacy of central Virginia and is a short drive away from several historical sites of note. The Green Springs National Historic Landmark District is 2½ miles north of Zion Crossroads and is home to Boswell’s Tavern. The Tavern was the site of an encampment of the Colonists’ French allies during the Revolutionary War and was a frequent meeting place of Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and Patrick Henry.

Zion Crossroads is home to UVA Medical Park Zion Crossroads, a primary and specialty care center that features a full-service pharmacy, an on-site medical lab, and many diagnostic services that were once only available at the UVA Health Center in Charlottesville. Dermatology, prenatal care, and sports medicine are just some of the vast number of health care specialties that are available to Crossroads residents right in their backyard.

Many of those residents live in Spring Creek, an all-inclusive gated community on over 950 acres boasting a wide variety of amenities. Spring Creek Golf Club features an 18-hole course ranked by Golf Digest as one of America’s 100 greatest public courses in 2017. Spring Creek is also home to a sports club with a fitness center, a 25-meter saltwater pool, and a full-service restaurant, Tavern on the Green, in the lower level of the clubhouse.
